Aside from beer, Czech Republic is also a producer of fine wine and two unique liquors – Fernet Stock, Becherovka. If you want to experience a real Moravian tradition, try a strong fruit brandy called Slivovitz.

Czech Republic: Prague, A Medieval Breeze

The reason I launched my travel blog with one of my latest visits, Czech Republic – Prague, is probably that the magical medieval sense surrounded me as soon as I landed on the city and didn’t leave me along the whole trip. I landed on the airport and It was not different from any other trips. However, when I arrived to the Old Town, I thought that I accidentally made a time travel and went at least 700 years back on time.

4. the Czech stare is real!

Upon entering this beautiful city, my TEFL course mentors told us about The Czech Stare. Being from America I know staring happens for sure; I did it all the time. But if you get caught you look away or play it off. However, in the Czech Republic everyone stares at you from the young to the old. And they do NOT look away. So don’t be offended it is just what they do here. If anything it is an invitation to blatantly stare at people yourself with no shame. This somewhat leads me to my next point…

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic,

The best hot chocolate in Prague! Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is undoubtely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with a varied history, but what if you already went through all possible streets and corners of the city and still have some time left? Or do you just want to take a break from the crowded Old Town and Castle District? Kutna Hora: Bones and Churches

When you hear about the Czech Republic, the first thing that comes to mind is typically Prague. A beautiful city that is breathing history from Gothic to Communist. But I am not here to talk about the vast beauties of Prague. No, no. Not today! I am here to talk to you about a whole different breed of a city in the Czech Republic. Another city brimming in history…and even some mystery.  I am here to talk to you about beautiful cathedrals, communism, and bones! I am here to talk to you about Kutna Hora.

Local bars and restaurants

Even those who have never been in Czech Republic know this place is famous because of its delicious beer and fat, but extremely tasty food. The city center is full of various typical Czech restaurants, happy to serve their customers as long as they pay that high prices. I am not going to tell you not to visit such places. I just want to share with you my experience. In other words, here are few places I really like and consider worthy :

LIVING HISTORY

It is the sixth largest city in the Czech Republic and has a very rich history, so at the first visit you’ll be amazed by the number of various monuments, such as the Holy Trinity Column in the center of the Upper Square, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Also worth mentioning the Town Hall, which is the symbol of the city and the Astronomical Clock on the north wall of the hall, which, however, is less popular than the one in Prague.

How travelling changed me.

In the summer of 2015 I decided it was time to change. I chose to live and moved to the Czech Republic to work for a company called Monster Worldwide. Once I arrived I felt a moment of panic: I was all alone, what if something went wrong? What if I had made a huge mistake? Soon I noticed I was just making a mountain out of the mole hill. I sighed and finally I noticed how great the sun felt on my skin, I felt free.

Karlovy Vary: the spa capital of the Czech Republic

Karlovy Vary: the spa and movie capital of Czech Republic It’s a sunny day, you are strolling through an unknown city, drinking mineral water originally from a warm spring from an adorable teacup. You are heading to a spa for a well-deserved, relaxing massage in a stunning building surrounded by greenery… That’s not a dream. Thats Karlovy Vary, a city located in Western Czech Republic with the population of almost 50 000. It is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations in the Czech Republic for not only local tourists. And I will tell you why… The city centre is relatively small but packed with a lot of interesting sights and picturesque buildings/streets/areas. I personally have visited Karlovy Vary on numerous occasions and even though it does seem like a very touristy, borderline packed city at certain times of the year, the atmosphere there is unlike any other.

A Winter Walk through Prague

I considered myself as optimistic a traveler as they come, but I was beginning to wonder if this weekend excursion to the Czech Republic capitol in early December was worth it. Every two blocks we had to duck into a souvenir shop to defrost our fingers and toes. I stared at the little ornaments and decorated gingerbread treats, trying to feel something magical.

A Summer Day in Prague

With balmy weather and endless evenings, Prague transforms into one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Seeing Prague any time of the year is a dream for many to begin with. But visiting the capital of the Czech Republic in the summer is unforgettable. Summer in Prague is about being outside as much as possible. In other words, Náplavka, farmer’s markets, parks, wine tastings, and beer gardens.

Sara Tomovic

The luminous capital of the Czech Republic is a historical city indeed, but is also a wonderful place full of young and fun people willing to welcome millions of worldwide visitors every year.

The luminous capital of the Czech Republic is a historical city indeed, but is also a wonderful place full of young and fun people willing to welcome millions of worldwide visitors every year. Usually and sadly, when visiting Prague as a part of an organized tour, the Agency will give you no more than 2 days at this magnificent city, especially if your tour includes bigger cities like Paris or London. But if you have the chance to spend more time here, you will find that the enchantment of this jewel destination is worth of spending at least a full weekend of your vacation.

Prague, Czech Republic: Returning To My Roots

Prague is the culturally rich capital of The Czech Republic. From the pubs to the picturesque streets, Prague is quite well known for its breathtaking views and the typical postcard scene of the Prague castle, the Vltava River and St. Vitus Cathedral. Being born in Prague, I have been fortunate enough to visit family quite often. The life in the Czech Republic is very different compared to Canada, where I moved when I was very little. Here are the things I have observed over my many visits back home.

The price is not high, since we are still talking about the Czech Republic, but even if you’re not in the mood to enjoy the inner decorations of medieval buildings, bear in mind that the both of them are just as beautiful from outside. What’s more, when your neck starts to hurt during such observations, you can put your chin back down, turn around and look at the stunning scenery revealed for you from the wall.

Mikulov: A Small Vineyard Paradise

For a very long time, I have yearned to visit the beautiful region of Moravia in Czech Republic, my home country. Moravia is known for its picturesque scenery, delicious food, friendly and laid-back people, and most importantly, excellent wine. It lies in the southeastern corner of the country and borders with Austria and Slovakia. Brno is the largest city and it’s considered as the capital of this region. A combination of highlands and lowlands dotted by small villages with narrow roads and white buildings surrounded by vineyards form a pleasant Mediterranean feel. Even the weather here is generally a little warmer than in the rest of the country. Moravia is also very rich with culture, history, and tradition. Tourists come to enjoy the atmosphere of local towns and the ample hospitality provided by the locals, often dressed in folk dresses and dancing to traditional folk music while offering the visitors a taste of their fresh-made regional specialties. Some of these include a pungent type of cheese called syrecky from the proud city of Olomouc, dill pickles from Znojmo or frgal – an oval pastry topped with plum jam, poppy or sweetened curd. The food is always accompanied by a wide selection of alcohol. The most prominent of them all is slivovice, a type of plum brandy, but Moravians are able to turn almost anything into a drink with high alcohol volume, which brings us back to the main attraction – Moravian wine cellars.

So, Where to begin?

tand out.  Also don’t forget about Trendelik the famous sweet delicious dough with Nutella or jam inside.  And the beer, of course. Czech Republic ranks first country in the world by annual per capita beer consumption. No further comments needed.
