Restaurant Favorites

Shakespeare’s Pizza: Shakespeare’s is  Columbia, Missouri landmark known for its popular pizza and unconventional decor. Not a personal favorite of mine but ask almost anyone else and they’ll tell you Shakespeare’s is a must! Booches: Founded in 1884, Booches is known for their signature burgers served on simple wax paper. These burgers were rated top 10 best burgers in America by USA Today in 2000, but make sure you get more than just one of these delicious specimens for dinner, you’ll need it! Cafe Berlin: This eclectic joint is perfect if you’re looking for a weekend brunch. With games, a wide menu variety, and often a folk band jamming out in the background, I’d recommend this place for any and all curious Como visitors. But remember to call in first, this place is in high demand! How to Go Out the Entire Weekend on Almost Nothing  Columbia, Missouri knows it’s demographic: broke college student. Here is a cumulative schedule of a perfect boozed-week for shocking prices! Just remember not to kill your liver just because your wallet is happy!

Jellyfish in Malaysia

They ended up staying another week in Langkawi whilst my mum got better. Through this process my dad was in contact with flight centre (who handled our booking) so that flights could be re-organised etc. etc. Long story short, the flight changes, extra accommodation in Langkawi for my dad and sister, and hospital bills were fully covered. So what would have cost thousands of dollars, only ended up costing my parents the couple of hundred dollars that the travel insurance was in the first place.

Work & Travel USA

The best opportunities for you, young people: Work & Travel USA One of the most popular programs!  Every year thousands of students come to the USA to work in amusement parks, hotels, restaurants etc. This program includes in average 3 months of work and the whole month of traveling full of adventures and crazy time!!! (But no more than 4 months). The time division depends on your job offer. Usually, it defines your position, time, when the contract starts and finishes, your salary (the most delicious part of the contract), and conditions about accommodation, which can be also provided by an employer.

 Learning

Moving to Darwin once again ignited that fire within me, the one that all natural born travellers have. It is a whole new world in the Northern Territory, with a landscape that is incredibly unique. The people here are quite unique too, which can be a good or bad thing.   I began to feel that adrenaline again, that wonderful feeling when the world appears exciting. With 2 and half years in Darwin under my belt, I have started to get ants in my pants again. Due to visa restrictions, I have to suffer through the itchy jocks as we are obligated to remain here for another year. I did reflect however on the measures that can be implemented to cure my wanderlust in the meantime. This period of intense soul searching (I probably gave it about 10 minutes), taught me that I probably don’t have to move thousands of kilometres every time life gets stale, as I did when I left Sydney. I left Sydney so unexplored to find something fresh. There was nothing wrong my surroundings; it was my mind state. I went with the flow and didn’t stay true to myself. I waited for other people to do things I was interested in. Realising this has certainly revived my outlook on travel. Travel is whatever you want it to be, as long it heralds new experiences and knowledge.

Surfen – Eine Leidenschaft

Brighton & Hove: Living the Exchange Dream

Doing an exchange program had always been a dream of mine and 99% of my friends – I wouldn’t say 100%, because some of my friends have already been a exchange student before. My dream was going to ether Australia or UK, USA, Canada or any another English speaking countries to take a language course and also to see the world.

a local’s guide to NZ’s capital city

If you are a fan of beer, you’re in the right place. As the country’s craft beer capital, you can snag a map at one of the many beer bars and tour breweries, beer bars, grabbing stamps to complete the beer trail [www.craftbeercaptial]. My favorite spot, just voted the best beer bar in Welly, is a hidden, underground bar tucked in an alley. Hashigo Zake offers 11 taps that are always rotating from the USA, Australia, Europe, and of course New Zealand. Catch live jazz tunes in their lounge every Saturday.

Why Zagreb?

Croatia has come a long way since the 1990s.  It is now one of the top Mediterranean travel destinations, competing with locations like Italy, Spain, and Greece.  With (arguably) the bluest sea in Europe and thousands of islands to explore, it is no surprise that it has become one of Europe’s hottest destinations.  Oh, did you know that Game of Thrones is filmed in Croatia as well?  Thanks to the popular television series, tourism has soared in Croatia, especially in the filming location of Dubrovnik.

(But no more than 4 months). The time division depends on your job offer. Usually, it defines your position, time, when the contract starts and finishes, your salary (the most delicious part of the contract), and conditions about accommodation, which can be also provided by an employer.

Thousand miles long

For one that’s never been to Croatia it could be important to know some things in general about the land’s coastline, which holds the most of its tourist destinations. In this article I will try to set some guidelines for people who haven’t explored it yet, and possibly some unknown information for those who are considering to visit it again. I will keep the focus on the mainland and will cover the islands in another article. Thousand miles long Croatia’s coastline is considered one of the most rugged in the world. While it’s only about 330 miles long in air travel, the total distance measures more than a thousand miles between it’s extreme points, with an additional 2500 miles of coast made by more than 1000 of it’s islands. All this adds up to infinite number of hidden beaches You can visit and enjoy the beautiful Adriatic sea as it was only yours. Whether You’re traveling coast north or south, You will never be without an island in your sight. This includes the national parks Kornati, Brijuni and Mljet, as well as the historically rich Kor?ula and Hvar, the inescapable Bra?, and many more. (For those wondering, the letter ? can be read “ch”)

The city

beach and if you are tired of sitting in the sand you can always enjoy the beauty of the beach sitting in the open cafes, eating or taking a drag of hookah. The best part of the beach is the sunset. This is when the sky is on fire and the sea reflects all its colours dutifully. While sitting on one of the beaches on the first day, I stared as the ball of fire slowly played hide and seek behind the clouds and thus forming a gorgeous lining on the clouds. Mesmerized by its beauty, I continued to gaze as the sun began to set in between the far-off hills, leaving behind a thousand shades of yellow and red on the sky and the sea. The wind played with my hair while my eyes tried its best to capture an unforgettable picture of the sight and store it in my memory forever. Sunset among the hills, on a windy and partly cloudy beach- what more could I ask for! Alas, I had to part with the beach for the day and return to my uncle’s house. The next day, we drove around the city, to some beautiful sunset point, a small and quiet beach and a nice park. The park is a frequently visited place for my uncle who enjoys photography. We enjoyed some time there, relaxing and roaming around till our stomach told us it was dinnertime.

Where to go? 1. Brugge

This city is tiny, cosy, romantic. We have a lot of tourists here. You can buy the best chocolates here or unless that’s what they say, because of the tourism prices are rising high. In the summer they have a lot of open air markets and festivals to check it out.  Don’t forget to try out our beer , there are so many thousands of kinds and flavors. Even me like a not alcoholic drinker I found one that I liked a very sweet one with framboise.

Montana: Take to the Mountains

Montana is a hidden gem in the USA. Sure, it is not filled with the glitz and glam of an exciting city, but its sky seems to stretch endlessly without interruption, a seamless ocean. Like it’s skies, Montana’s national forests extend for millions of acres, including the Custer Gallatin National Forest which is located in central-Southern Montana. Within these boundaries exists my favorite place in the world: the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. This is a vast amount of deep rich forest, wherein two beautiful mountain ranges loom-the Absarokas and the Beartooth mountains. Brimming full with wildflowers and waterfalls in the summer, and weighted down with fluffy snow and cascading ice in the winter, this uncommon destination is a scenic combination of vibrant life and  peaceful calm. It is remote and far-removed from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. This little–but not so little–treasure in Montana allows you to take a step back from the impatience of our fast-tracked lives and live according to the mountains’ pace. So, if you are looking for a breath of fresh air, set down that IPhone (since you probably won’t be within service range), and take to the Wilderness. (194 Words)

Jamaica: The secret Third-World Country

I asked her, she shrugged and looked gloomily out of the window at the crumbling roads, non-existent pavements and the shambles of a city where we had committed to spend three months. I had it in my head that the country would be one big beach, with thousands of palm trees to sit under to get away from the relentlessly hot sun; cocktails would be served by be-suited male models and there would be an endless supply of everything that I would ever think of needing.

The Abel Tasman

A stone’s throw away from Nelson City, the region is home to one of New Zealand’s best attractions; The Abel Tasman National Park. World-famous for its golden beaches, lush nature tracks and outstanding views, the coast track is estimated to take around 3 to 5 days and attracts thousands of tourists each year. Cleopatra’s pool, a natural rock pool with a moss-covered waterslide, is a highlight of the track and during the spring/summer season you may also spot fur seals and lots of New Zealand wildlife. If you don’t feel like doing the whole walk, parts of the track are accessible via road and a small walk into the bays; a perfect day-trip.

2. Pastifico

Everyday there are two different pasta options, most of the time one vegetarian and one not. The pasta changes daily and you won’t know what that day’s options are until you’re at the front of the queue. That said, the varieties I see the most are: Carbonara (a Roman specialty so you know…When in Rome) Gnocci with sausage Pasta Arabiata (a red, slightly spicy sauce) and Eggplant Rigatoni (my favourite) Eggplant Rigatoni

From the biggest parties of Ibiza to one of the smallest villages in Ireland

Irish food is nothing special just steak with chips or in some cases fish and chips as in UK. I am not the biggest fun of Irish food, for my taste is a bit too fat but there are some very nice things that you might try If you are in Ireland. The Irish butter is just brilliant, I think I got addicted to it. There are some sausages that also taste very good, try to find products made in Ireland. My very favorite thing is definitely the Irish coffee and the Whiskey – Gingerade.

Trekking trails in Holy Land

My aim is not to describe the difficulties of political and religious animosities there. This should be left for other people and places. I will simply focus on my trekking experiences, which were only positive, regardless of whom and where I met. I have to highlight though, that I got these experiences in 2014, so before the current unrests began. So folks, take care.  Better don’t run there right now, when the heads are hot on all sides. Situation in early spring of 2014 was bit cooler though. Back then I decided to trek a bit both in Israel and Palestine and discover and feel by myself this unique piece of the planet. Overall I did something around 120 km in 5 days, but it’s hard to say exactly. Whereas in Israel, all is marked and counted well, don’t expect many path marks in the Judean Desert of West Bank ? Both options are worth trying though. In Israel, you have a huge range of trek paths; from purely sport ones to those with a touch of region’s religious history.  Loads of them are intersecting or in some places, just going the same way. Nevertheless in 4 days and about 100 km, I met some other trekkers only once – a group of 3 young Israelis walking the Israel National Trail. My plan was way less ambitious than this 1000 km path crossing all Israel from north to south. I chose a mix of so called Jesus Trail and Gospel Trail, amazing treks up in Galilee, where you enjoy beautiful nature and where history is touching you nowadays with all those Biblical remarks around. You are also passing sites of crusades battles, remains of caliphate times’ palaces or marks of most recent local conflicts. Truly history textbook live!
