Mount Abu – spellbinding beauty nestled atop the hills
As we wound up our day in Mount Abu, we boarded the bus to our next destination, Udaipur. Udaipur is almost 6 hours by road from Mount Abu. We had planned to stay for two days in Udaipur; explore some nearby places around on Day 1 and roam around in Udaipur on Day 2, as we had head to Kota from Udaipur.Lakshmi Kannan

When I visited Udaipur, I was traveling with my husband and both our parents. We needed something affordable but comfortable. We stayed at Zostel Udaipur, which offers a hostel or hotel-like accommodation. They also have a restaurant with an incredible view of Fateh Sagar Lake. A simple breakfast is included but they offer a larger menu you can order from as well. At night time we enjoyed dinner and beers next to the fire while overlooking the lake and city. I highly recommend Zostel for the quality and price. The rooms were clean and big, and the service was great. It’s a great place for groups, couples, and singles alike.Abbey Holt
Udaipur: Royalty is in the air !
When one is in Rajasthan and is looking for a perfect destination to unwind, Udaipur, which is surrounded by Aravalli Ranges, seems to be a dream getaway for many. Not only the hills but the picturesque lakes, massive forts, marvellous palaces, lush green gardens, contribute to the beauty of the city. No doubt, Udaipur-also known as the city of lakes, is considered as one of the most romantic cities of the World. And once you land in Udaipur, it instantly reminds you of the City of Venice with the alluring lakes reflecting the hypnotising forts, palaces and never ending Aravalli hills stretched in all directions.shivani-sinh
Udaipur: Venice of the East
So I’ve been wanting to go on a solo trip since forever, but there was something that always stopped me from doing it. May be it was the fear of travelling alone in a completely different part of the country, I just kept delaying it. Finally, in October 2015 I packed my bags and was off to Udaipur, Rajasthan (India).Tanvi Bhatt
Colors, Music and Happiness
Navratri means “nine nights” it is one of the most wonderful festivals celebrated all over India and Nepal. This festival happen in the beginning of October but the exactly date is determinate according with the Lunar Calendar. You can choose any of the magicals cities of Rajasthan as Jaipur (The Pink city), Udaipur (City of Lakes), Jodhpur (the Blue city) or Jaisalmer (the city inside a forte), these options are the traditional and organized for tourist, wich are really nice and colorful but if you are more like me and want to go for a really native experience I‘m going to suggest to go for any city in Gujarat. In my case a choose Vadodara or in English Baroda. Baroda is located 6 hours way by train from Mumbai and 2 from Ahmadabad, the largest city of the state. If you want to know a nice and traditional India, you should come and visit it. Gujarat is the home of Gandhi and who preached unity between all religions and became a worldwide figure for peaceful struggle against tyranny. Because of that, Gujarat is a dry state. Dry state? How come can it be? Well is one of the few states in India, where Indians are not allow to drink and foreigner have to ask for a permission to buy in some hotels 5 beers per week or 2 bottles of any alcohol they sell (mostly Vodka, Whisky, Indian Wine called “Sula” and Rum)..They actually have a register of how much alcohol you buy. Also most all the people living there is vegetarian but you can find some restaurants than offer some chicken and lamb dishes but you will never find beef.AniPrieto
