How to get there?
Pattadakal is well connected by road and train. The nearest rail head is at Badami. From there you can catch buses to Pattadakal i.e. around 22 kilometers from Badami. Badami is around 500 kilometers from Bangalore and 595 kilometers from Bombay.Usha Mv
What you will you see on this road trip
Saw a lot of banana plantations, coconut trees, hills, mountains, lots of toll crossing was something I had already gotten accustomed too. We crossed Bangalore on the way which is the IT Hub of India. Beautiful roads of Bangalore were a good sight. We stopped at the highway and ate some uttapams and dosas with chutney. The food was delicious; I was eagerly waiting to eat idli, dosas and now I had the taste of the real south Indian mouth watering food, I craved for. Finally, we reached the entrance of Rameshwaram at midnight. we halted the car on the Pamban bridge that connects the Tamil Nadu state with Rameshwaramam.Habiba Sayyed

MASINAGUDI-BANDHIPUR.....THE LAND OF RAVING WILDLIFE
After slogging for months like a maniac at workplace, me and my husband decided to take a break from the mundane jungles of city life and visit the evergreen jungles somewhere. After quite a lot of search and discussion, we decided to go to masinagudi since it was a distance which can be easily covered by car from our place-chennai. There are two routes to reach masinagudi from chennai. One is via mettupalayam-ooty and the other is via mysore-bangalore both of which comes to about 600km. We decided to go via mysore-banglore just so we can enjoy the lush greenery enroute to masinagudi-bandipur.jessie
Andaman: Relax, Refresh and Rejuvenate yourself!
You could reach Andaman via flight or via Cruise from Chennai or Vishakapatnam. However, we took a flight from Bangalore to Andaman with a connecting flight in Chennai.Anika Manini Shankar
Easily accessible by both trains and buses from Bangalore or Chennai which will drop you of in Hospet the town next to Hampi and is also the hub for various transport options to and from Hampi to other places, it is an ideal weekend getaway. The landscape of Hampi is mesmerising, situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, the scene is a combination of ancient ruins, temples, beautiful paddy fields, palm trees and a host of boulders precariously placed and balanced on top of each other. You somehow get transported to Fred Flintstones land.Mihika Chaudhuri
The city of trees, art, and food
Bangalore, the city with the best weather. Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India. Bangalore, the “Garden” city. Bangalore’s traffic, Bangalore noise. Bangalore’s congested roads and mostly broken pavements. Bangalore, the city devoid of notable historical monuments and photographic spots.Nalu
Explore Leh Ladakh in 15 days!
Leh is a much talked about aspirational vacation destination for many from bikers to trekking enthusiasts to those who merely like to discover the farthest corners of the world. But so vast is this destination that one can only hope to make the most of the time that they can afford to spend there. There’s no doing justice to this place, however long one stays. But here’s a brief attempt at covering as much as was possible of this amazing land in a 15 day holiday by a solo traveller from Bangalore to Leh and back.Lekha Kamath
Offbeat Bylakuppe: A Slice of Tibet in Karnataka
Karnataka is that little jewel on the South Indian tour circuit, dwarfed by neighboring Kerala, yet brimming with both natural and historic wonders. Ancient temples jostle with wild forests and tigers, and tranquility is always a call away from beaches that can rival any in Goa. You could find India’s own Silicon Valley in the bustling, chaotic city of Bangalore and marvel at the country’s growing transformation into an economic powerhouse. You could do all this and more or you could just step into Tibet in Karnataka. Yes, Tibet, that ancient fierce land bordered by the world’s greatest mountains finds itself mirrored in a little corner in Karnataka.Smitha Murthy

Goa : From Panjim to Querim

Bangalore: Shopping and food
Bangalore, now known as Bengaluru is the capital of the state of Karnataka in India. I have visited this city pretty often, so much so that I have picked a bit of the local language Kannada. Bangalore is the heart of Karnataka’s culture. As a metropolitan, it houses numerous offices and factories. It has got many of the country’s finest educational institutes, not to miss the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc).Shruti Khandeparkar
Food and Sights of Bangalore
Relishing slices of red guava sprinkled with chaat masala I bought from a street vendor, I wander down Commercial Street. Situated in a prime area in Bangalore with a colourful jumble of high end brands such as Arrow and Allen Solly and stalls consisting of a cart selling cheap jewellery and bangles, roast corn on the cob, and poly-mangoes, it is popular area among young and old. Rich and poor coexist as women with large shopping bags chatter loudly, desensitised to the sight of beggars with missing limbs on a street that is lined by shops selling clothes they could never afford. Yet everyone seems to get by and perhaps that is the magic of India.Anushka Britto

Bangalore is my home and I love it. Well I’m sure everybody would say that but come on. I always considered Bangalore to be a mini New York. You can often hear conversations in five different languages in the same room at the same time. A city of soul, culture, fun and opportunities is always ready to receive you with open arms.

Gokarna : Bliss on the Beach
Situated approximately 500 km from Bangalore City, India, is this small but beautiful town called Gokarna. This place is one of the sacred towns in the state of Karnataka worshipping the Hindu Deity Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is believed to have loomed from a cow’s ear and hence the name Go- Karna(Cow’s – Ear). I happened to visit Gokarna in the month of January 2017 with a couple of my friends and this was so far the best trip I have been.Dheepna
Bangalore: A Paradise for Foodies
Bangalore City or better referred to as Bengaluru by the locals, is unique. It is the perfect example of a crossroad between tradition and globalism. While still stooped in the days of early morning walks in Cubbon Park with the family, one can also find young men and women walking around Indiranagar as the sun rises in the sky. Bangalore is famous for many things, such as an avid theatre and dance scene, and the annual flower show at Lalbhag. It is also famous for its restaurants and its pubs. The sheer amount of global cuisines that can found within the city is fantastic and a pleasure for all the foodies out there.Samragni Dasgupta
