The second biggest sea town on the Bulgarian coast is Burgas. There is also one of the biggest airports that are bringing a lot of tourists all over the world to Bulgarian top sea resorts like Sunny Beach. So if you are planning your summer vacation there, I would recommend you to keep time for a one-day walking tour in Burgas. You will have the great possibility to be more close to Bulgarian culture and daily life of the locals, but you will also be in love with this amazing sea town.
You can start your walk from the central square Troykata. It is really beautiful and wide. There are some administrative buildings, the Cultural centre and the impressive building of the District Court. There is a nice small garden with flowers, nice shadows of beautiful old trees and benches. After that, you can continue your tour down in Aleksandrovska street which is the main walking and shopping street. It is a car-free and there are many shops of different famous brands, restaurants and coffee places, so you can enjoy a nice shopping morning. Walking down the street you will pass through the beautiful Freedom Square where is situated the City Hall. Keep walking to the end of the main street and you will reach the Main Train Station. Then is good to take your left and to pass through Queen Yoanna Square which is with a really beautiful garden and a small fountain in the middle. You should continue your way left via Bulair street and after on Boulevard Democracy which will lead you to the entrance of the famous Sea Garden.
The Sea Garden
You will enter The Sea Garden from the side of the emblematic restaurant Golden Anchor. The garden is beautiful, huge and there are many things to do. If you keep walking down from the entrance to the beach you will reach the famous viewpoint called Terasata. From there is an amazing view of the beach, sea and the Pier. From here is up to you how you want to spend your day, you can be on the beach or keep enjoying the beautiful Sea Garden. You can bike or just walk around the old trees and to be hidden under their shadow during the hottest hours. In the gardens are the Open-air Theater, The Pantheon of the Fallen Antifascists, Swimming Center, Cultural Center, Playgrounds, special eco-paths, Tennis court, Horse riding base and school, chapel and Dance Plaza. So there is a lot to do. During the summer season next to the Horse base is the area of Sand Fest where you can enjoy marvellous sand figures from artists and sculptors from all over the world. It is an amazing event to visit and to see the miracle of the sand.
The beach and the Pier
During the day you can enjoy the nice sun and amazing sea or you can have a nice evening walk on the long and wide beach and the romantic pier. On the boardwalk are a lot of nice sea restaurant with a beautiful view of the sea where you can enjoy delicious dinner.
