Emily Warnke Crary
Who: My name is Emily Warnke-Crary. I am a twenty-six year old Alaskan-turned-Oregonian currently living and teaching abroad. What: I am a lifelong learner. First and foremost, learning is what I do every day. I am also a teacher. I chose to educate children so that I would have the opportunity to share my passions, smile, spirit and joy with others every day. When: I moved to Thailand in May 2016 and have been living here ever since. Currently I am half way through teaching my first semester as an ESL teacher at Chomsurang Upatham School, in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Where: I was born and raised in Anchorage, AK. Growing up way up north instilled in me a passion for adventure and the great outdoors! I love the summers in AK the best; one of my fondest memories as a child is staying out till way past eleven pm playing outside by the light of the sun. Camping is another favorite past time of mine, I developed this love from my home state. In 2006, when I was sixteen I moved with my family to Ashland, OR. This change has shifted my perspective of myself as an Alaskan, to an Alaskan-turned-Oregonian. I will never give up my original, Alaskan roots, but living in Oregon isn’t too bad either. The Pacific Northwest is THE greatest place in the country to call home. Oregon has beauty everywhere you turn, from rivers to raft, mountains to climb, or the Pacific coast, there’s never a dull moment once you step outside.
