"If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there". An amazing quote to which I add this: do it with a smile, with passion, energy and be the best you can be in whatever it is you are doing. Professionally, so far I managed to get two degrees. One in Social Work and one in Public Safety. I work as a voluntary firefighter, a prevention consultant and am still continuing my studies in the field psychotherapy, specifically working with trauma and adversity. During my studies I took the opportunity to work abroad. The first time as a strategic analist working on organized crime in The Hague (Netherlands), the second time as a social worker in New York/The Bronx working with vulnerable children. Next to that I had several internships, of which the most interesting one was working as a counselor on trauma care with the police department. One of my greatest passions is travelling. Recently I had the pleasure to discover the Nepalese Himalayas doing a trekking to the Annapurna base-camp, visiting the Chitwan Jungle on the border with India and submerging myself in the culture of Buddhism and Hinduism visiting temples all over the country. Accidentally I also managed fall in love head over heels. Before that, backpacking Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil was one of my greatest adventures. Europe has been my home ground, of which I gladly took the opportunity to visit often. In doing this I learned four languages and a hint of Portuguese. When I am home my passions are rock climbing, mountain biking, practicing guitar and piano, reading, drawing and finally, as I recently discovered: writing. I gives me great pleasure to share my experiences on a personal level and at the same time handle and research culture, philosophy and psychology.
