Bora Bora is probably one of the most wanted dream destinations in the world. It is really hard and expensive to be reached because not so many tourists are visiting French Polynesia and there are quite a few planes and cruise ships that are going there. Also, one of the cheapest rooms on the island you can stay is around 400 euro per night which makes the destination really luxury and exclusive in the Pacific. Otherwise, the weather is always good for a vacation and can offer amazing conditions for swimming with the ray fishes and tiger sharks. The main island is surrounded by many small islets called “motu” and in between is amazing lagoon with turquoise waters. Many of the most luxury 5-star resorts are actually located on the different “motu” islets which guarantee the private and unique experience. The main island is green with a high ancient volcano. The capital town is Vaitape and it is a perfect spot to visit the Craft Market or to have a bit cheaper food from the mobile vans around the small harbour. The island is small so it is possible to explore it for a day. From there you can hire also small electric open car to make self-driving tour around the island or you can take the public bus and visit one of the most famous sightseeings on Bora Bora.
Le Truck experience
It is a special tour with a colourful jitney which you can make on the mainland of Bora Bora. It is making a circle around the coastal road and stopping on famous places as the ancient ceremonial site of Fa’anui Marae, the lagoon lookouts of the Taihi Point, Popular Matira Beach, the bunkers of World War II and the fantastic Bloody Mary’s Restaurant which is world famous with its tropical cuisine and cool cocktails.
4×4 off-road experience
If you want to explore the volcano Mount Otemanu you can go off-road by 4-wheel drive vehicle. It is a good idea if you want to understand more about the culture. The island is small, but it is home to 40 ancient temples known as marae. So off-road, you can visit many of them and especially the most significant for the archaeology – Fare Opu, whose coral rock stones are decorated with petroglyphs of turtles.
If you want to encounter marine life, Bora Bora is the perfect place for this. By short cruise by boat, you can reach the shallow waters where you can swim or feed fish and docile black-tip sharks and stingrays. On this adventure, you can also go for snorkelling in a coral garden, which is really magnificent and unique.
If you love the luxury experience you can make a relaxing lagoon cruise. You will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the lagoon, the famous Bora Bora’s volcanic peaks and gorgeous beaches on the private motu with amazing luxury lunch. You can also swim in the turquoise waters or relax on the sun with tropical refreshments.
