I'M Hotel in Makati, Perfect for a Romantic Getaway!

Our Anniversary is nearing and we still haven’t plan anything. Until a friend of ours introduced us to a 5-star hotel in the Philippines, I’m Hotel’s Spacation Package.

The Hotel

I’M Hotel is a pretty new hotel situated at the heart of Poblacion, Makati. It houses the largest state of the art facility in the Philippines – the I’m Onsen Spa. Onsen translates to a Japanese hot spring which involves bath etiquette, nudity (sometimes with the opposite sex) and believed to have healing powers. Aside from the Onsen bath, the 6-floor spa facility houses 69 beds where guests can choose to avail their treatments from a wide variety of rooms from spa pods, to couple suits, executive suits and a VIP party lounge. I’M Hotel’s iconic acrylic-bottomed pool is also very unique as you can see the cars arriving at the lobby hotel as well as they could see you from there. Pretty cool eh?

If you want to have a drink or two, I’M Hotel has also got you covered. They have 2 very instagrammable bars. One is Mermaid which is located beside the pool and one on the rooftop – Antidote, which offers a 360 view of the city.

The Spa-cation Package

Our friend said that I’M Hotel offers money worthy Spa-cation (Spa + Vacation treat I guess!) Package. Their package differs from the type of room you will avail.  Included in the package is the I’M Onsen Spa All-Inclusive Spa Package good for 2 persons and 4 persons if you booked for a 2-bedroom suite which consists of a 60-minute massage of your choice, dinner buffet at The Common Good, complimentary unlimited wellness teas at the tea lounge area and access to the onsen pool, steam and sauna. You will also have access to the awesome infinity pool, gym and club lounge. You are also entitled to a buffet breakfast at The Common Good also good for 2 persons and 4 if you’re in a 2-bedroom suite. Complimentary welcome minibar and wifi access are avaiable.

The package almost already provided all the things we needed. Hence, we literally just stayed at the hotel. We didn’t need to go out to have dinner or get something to drink since the package kept us busy and made us choose to stay at the hotel.

The Rooms

I’M Hotel offers a wide range of rooms to choose from. For the spa-cation package, we chose the Classic Studio. When I was a kid, I’ve always loved the color brown and this room screams of the shade wood which gives it a more homey feeling (at least for me hehe). What I loved about the room is that it has a full sized mirror where you can check your OOTDs. Something not all hotels have.  Also, the 49″ HDTV was too impressive. It has a welcome remarks with my full name on it. I like anything that is personalized, makes a customer feel special. The King sized bed was also to die for, perfect for the good rest you’ve been looking for. The room also has a working table, sofa, safe, closet with all the other things and the mini bar. I was too impressed with the mini bar since it included cookies, nuts, and drinks that we can have for free! yep, for free. The bathroom was also stunning with its Luxury German Rainshower and bathroom amenities.

The Massage

I’ve read in their website that you need to schedule your spa ahead of time. Communicating with them through email was hassle free and I was able to book our spa appointment at 1PM. I actually wanted to have the spa before the check-in time of I’M Hotel so that we can maximize the use of other facilities but the hotel was generous enough to have us checked in even at 12:30 noon. After settling in our room, we immediately changed clothes and went to I’M Onsen Spa to have our, well, spa. The receptionist asked for our reservation and our chosen massage. Me and my boyfriend picked the Aromassage which according to their website, focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissues. Slow yet strong pressure is used to release deep seated muscle tensions, aches and pains. We were then told to go to the upper floor to get dressed. We wear given a Yutaka (casual Japanese kimono) and locker keys for our things. When you go inside, someone will assist you on how you should were your Yutaka. The facility on that floor already has the bathroom, shower room, Sauna and the Onsen Spa. Due to lack of time, we weren’t able to try the Onsen Spa. After changing to our Yutaka, we already went to the next floor to get our treatment. We were then asked to stay at the Relaxing Tea Lounge where overflowing tea is available and wait till our masseuse calls us.

When everything’s ready, we were brought to a couple suite and asked us to lay down. The masseuses were all professional, following all the protocols and handled us with care. It was so good that if we can have the spa for 2 hours, we will not complain.

The Food

The spa-cation package had a bundled dinner buffet which we can take at the Common Good restaurant. The place has a great ambiance and good service. They have a wide variety of food from appetizers to rice meals, pasta, pastries and dessert. My personal favorite was the made to order pesto pasta. We were so full that it was already so hard to stand up haha. One thing I noticed was the word “infused”. I had to google it and was impressed with how this restaurant is promoting a healthy lifestyle. The buffet breakfast was also served in Common Good and still, we were amazed at how they value service to their customer and the food choices.

All in all, it was a great Anniversary Celebration with I’M Hotel. Everything was unexpected and it didn’t fail our satisfaction. If given a chance, we’ll be back to this place and try the other facilities. Highly recommended!

Hi! Did you visited their club lounge? If yes, was it okay compared to other hotel\'s club lounge facility? Thanks in advance!
