Brisbane: 7 Lovely Places to Visit.
Friday, September 16, 2016
Hello, there! I decided to write about Brissie because I lived there last year and I felt in love with this amazing place! So I would like to recommend you visiting 7 places if you are in this city of Australia. Let´s go!
Brisbane CBD: Everything is here and you can´t miss what the City of Brisbane can offer you.
You will be able to find many stores along Queen Street Mall such as Restaurants, Boutiques, Pubs, and Bars.
There is also City Sounds, which is a free music program where some local and touring artists show their talent to people walking over the street. And I can say that most of them play amazing music!…you can listen to sounds like Jazz, Folk, Alternative, and Electro, for example.
If you are a fashion lover, you will find the street stores of clothing like:
Forever 21, Cotton On, City Beach and Boutiques such as Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Coach, and Chanel.
And well, let´s talk about one of my favorite topics, FOOD.
Brisbane is a multicultural city as many others cities in Australia, so you will be able to try delicious dishes from:
And if you like Korean Food as me, I would recommend you visiting Bull Bar. It is on Elizabeth St and you can have there a nice Korean dinner with good music.
If you love desserts as much as I do, you will need to go to Passion Tree to try the heaven. Yes…it is the Honey Bread, so once you try it, you might want to return for another one… so yummy!
Each Wednesday there is a market located on George St, from 8am to 6pm where farmers go to sell food from around the world. You can find there fresh fruits and Organic vegetables, Greek bread, seafood, Italian Pizza and Spanish Paella! And the prices are quite acceptable but the most important, you will find all the food so fresh and with a so good taste.
If you are a lover chocolate, you will need to visit the Noosa Chocolate Factory, located on Adelaide St. Here you will find flavors of chocolate such as Mango, Blue Berry, Cherry, Strawberry and why not? You will be able to enjoy a delicious hot coffee as well.
Also, I recommend you going to San Churro located in South Brisbane. And believe me… you will become a fan of their desserts.
They offer Churros covered with liquid chocolate and joined with banana and strawberries, MMHH! And you can join them with a hot chocolate or with an ice cream if you prefer 😉
Botanic Gardens: this is a perfect place to relax for free.
It is next to The Brisbane River, you will find this beautiful Botanic Garden with different species of plants and different kind of flowers. Also, you will be able to enjoy a huge space just for relaxing, so you could go there for a picnic or just to read a book around of the quite nature. I remember it was the first place I visited in Brisbane and it was exceptional!
West End: this suburb is so alternative and vintage….
If you are in the Brisbane CBD and you like to walk, you might want to go to this place on foot as it is quite close from the Brisbane City. In this suburb, you will be able to find different options to eat and different places to go for a drink at night. Also, you will find Street Art in some areas which make seem this place even more vintage!
On Saturdays, you will be able to go to the Davis Park Market in which locals sell food from around the world. Here you can have a nice breakfast sitting under the trees while enjoying the beautiful view of the river just in front of you!
Mount Coo-Tha: this is the perfect place for enjoying the amazing view of Brisbane.
Lots of people go to Mount Coo-Tha from the Brisbane CBD on a bus. It is 287 metres above the sea level, and it has the highest peak in Brisbane.
So this place is quite good to see the city during the day and it has a small restaurant in which you can go, so you don´t need to be worry about what to eat.
Roma Parkland: a beautiful place located to 15 minutes by walking from the city.
This park has large green areas and it is usually visited by people on weekends. Here you can go for a BBQ to celebrate a birthday or just hang out with your friends. You can be in this area for free, so it is also a good option to consider.
South Bank: one of my favorite places to stay in the city.
Here, you could go for a walking and it is possible to have fun not only during the day but also at night as the view of all the lights around there is so pretty.
Here you will also find the wheel of Brisbane which is an icon of the city, it is almost 66 metres tall and it is perfect to have an amazing view across Brisbane.
Street´s Market: this market is just amazing.
I recommend you visiting it on Saturday at night as there are many options to eat. It is in Hamilton, Brisbane, and one of the ways to get there is by the CityCat. It opens only Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm and Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm, so if you prefer it is a good option for having lunch on that day.
You will find dishes such as French Crepes, Japanese Pizza, Thai Food, dishes from South America and Nachos and Quesadillas!
If you have the opportunity to visit this amazing city, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Here is my Blog where you will be able to read more about Brisbane and other cities.
Cheers and Good luck! 🙂
