What makes this temple so popular are the proper maintenance of its architecture, the glinting gold plated domes, the lighting especially during the festive days, the spirit of dedicated pilgrims, the purity of the Sarovar and the most crucial- the langar.

The weather in Amritsar transforms as per the approaching seasons. But in many cases, it’s always extreme. The temperature faces a drastic drop in January while it’s at its peak in the months of May as well as June. The best months to travel here for sightseeing are from September to December and February to March when you’ll experience a pleasant decorum. July and August are the months of the rain showers. Hence, it is better to avoid these months for visiting since it can hinder your sightseeing schedule.

Sight worth viewing:

The cityscape itself provides a view of the tightened bond of history and culture. The places such as the Golden Temple, Jallian Wala Bagh, Gobindgarh Fort along with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama are perfect shreds of evidence for the same. Each of these monuments has its distinct history which proudly represents the varied eras of Amritsar. Even Wagah Border is such a memorable space where you get to witness a rare sight of two countries shaking hands to highlight their friendship.
There are also such shops available in the streets of the city which draws you towards the cultural aspect. Punjabi jutti and Phulkaari work embroidery are such aspects that are elapsed on to the current period and are still donned by the civilians functionally.

Overall, Amritsar is a spot which enlightens the beauty of the relationship between the past as well as the present scenario. This is such a spot that should be visited by the person once in a lifetime at least.
