Alvor and Monchique
If you are the nature lover you should start from visiting Ponta da Piedade (Lagos) – ocean coast caves. These can only be found at the volcanic coasts. At the highest point caves are about 20 meters height. There are some rocky pillars, arches and gates which creates an unusually beautiful landscape. Almost in every cave there is a hole where the sunlight comes in and changes the water colour. Also some caves have small beaches inside. There are special tours for it and you can find tickets at tourist information or in some beaches. Ships sail from Lagos, Portimao, Armacao de Pera towns directly to the Ponta da Piedade, but you can also choose to go there by boat or canoe. Alvor and Monchique The other thing you can try is the trail Alvor (Alvor, Portimão). It is a wooden trail that runs alongside the beach and combines all the main centers of attraction in Alvor – seafood restaurants, diners and bars. At the end of the runway you can refresh with a cold beer. In Algarve you might see some mountains, like Serra de Monchique. It is a small country town on the top of the mountain. From there you can see an amazing view, feel the mild climate and try some traditional chicken piri-piri. If you go there don’t miss a chance to visit Caldas de Monchique – a place of a lovely forest and fountains. If you want to entertain yourselves you won’t have a problem finding what to do here.Mantė Voverytė - Girnė
