Sadly, there isn’t much to see in Pisa apart from these landmarks, but you can head to another hidden gem in the heart of Tuscany, San Gimignano (pronounced San Gimi-nia-no). San Gimignano is a medieval town that is very well preserved and is simply breathtaking. Take another train from Pisa Central station towards Poggibonsi, where you can find buses that go towards the town. It’s a 30-40 minute ride, but you will be able to witness some beautiful scenery of Tuscany.rozeen-muasher
San Gimignano, the Town of Towers
Evening view of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo viewpoint San Gimignano, the Town of Towers The next day we continued our journey south towards Rome, but we wanted to see some small touristic towns first. So after some googling we decided to take the local road and visit a cute town of San Gimignano. The weather was cloudy with occasional drizzling, but it did not stop us from walking around the wet stone streets and curiously entering every small church on the way. This small town is full of interesting towers, and offers nice views of the Tuscany landscape and also the “best ice cream in the world”.Nina Lozej
